On Wednesday, April 21, the U.S. House Ways and Means Committee is hosting a hearing called “In Their Own Words: Paid Leave, Child Care, and an Economy that Failed Women.”
The hearing will feature testimony from five mothers – and one of them, Rebecca, is a family child care educator in New York.
They will speak about their experiences and we can’t wait to cheer them on!

One way you can support Rebecca and the others, and let Congress know that family child care is here: tell us in your own words, what do you want Members of Congress to know right now about the work of child care, the families counting on you – and your own family counting on you?
Please fill out this form by Sunday, May 2. NAFCC will put family child care providers’ words into written testimony for the record, which means U.S. Representatives on the Committee, and their staff, will have a chance to read your words.
The House Ways and Means Committee has an important role to play as we #BuildChildCare together.
At NAFCC, our role is to make space for you to be heard everywhere decisions are made.
Let’s keep showing them the power of family child care, in your own words.
