NAFCC has been on the move! Over the last couple of months, NAFCC staff have had the privilege to travel around the country to be in person with FCC educators to celebrate, reconnect and listen to their feedback and ideas. We look forward to seeing more of our members in person in the coming months.

It was our first on-site (non-conference) observer training in over 4 years.

NAEYC Public Policy Forum

Jerletha McDonald, (Sr. Manager of Communications) attended the NAEYC Public Policy Forum in Washinton DC. Jerletha participated on a plenary panel titled the Business of Family Child Care: Supporting Family Child Care business and increasing compensation. Laura Butler, (NAFCC State Rep Delegate) attended as well. Erica Phillips (Executive Director) also participated in the virtual opening session for the forum.

Erica Phillips recently traveled to Los Angeles to deliver a keynote presentation at the Crystal Stairs African American Providers Network. While there she visited the FCC program of Yessika Magdalena (Hispanic Caucus Facilitator & Leaders Shaping Leaders fellow). She also stopped by the Darts & Games, an event space opened by Tonia McMillian, a former FCC educator who is still very active in ECE advocacy.

Erica Phillips (Executive Director} had an opportunity to meet with FCC educators at the Bay Area FCC Network Annual Forum in Contra Costa as well as during a NAFCC reception in San Francisco. She also presented on Black Women and the Care Economy at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
NAFCC at the MAAEYC Conference
Worcester, Massachusetts
Our Director of Membership, Francia Wisnewski, attended the MAAEYC Conference held in Worcester, Massachusetts this past Saturday March 11th. The conference offered various opportunities to participate and support professional development to educators in early childhood. The day included and interactive array of presentations from partnerships such as Life Is Good Playmakers, Bright Horizons, both national organizations, as well as a local opportunity to connect with state legislators on matters of advocacy to advance the field.
NAFCC LSL Fellows – Montana Family Child Care Association
NAFCC Leaders Shaping Leaders (LSL) Fellows Sheryl Hutzenbiler and BriAnne Moline founders of the Montana Family Child Care Association, held their First Annual Family Child Care Conference in partnership with Raise Montana. Sheryl and BriAnne developed their Family Child Care Association as part of their community project during their NAFCC Leaders Shaping Leaders Fellowship tenure. Sherly and Brianna co-presented their keynote address with Jerletha McDonald ( Sr. Manager of Communications and Partnerships)
