Policy council

Join the NAFCC Policy Council

Family child care educators are the backbone of our nation’s child care system — yet too often, policies are made without the voices of the educators who know the system best.

The National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC) is launching its first-ever Policy Council, and we are inviting passionate leaders from the family child care community to help shape how NAFCC represents you at federal policy tables.

This is your opportunity to ensure that family child care voices are at the table where decisions are made.

What Is the NAFCC Policy Council?

The Policy Council is a national advisory group that helps inform NAFCC’s advocacy and policy priorities. Council members work together to:

We especially encourage applications from:

  • Family child care educators
  • Educators serving diverse communities
  • Rural, urban, and tribal communities
  • Programs of different sizes and licensing types
  • Educators working with subsidy programs
  • Advocates and leaders supporting home-based child care

You do not need to be a policy expert.
