Asian Pacific Islander Caucus Leader

Yukiyo Iida serves as the Associate Director of Parent Leadership and Family Engagement at the Connecticut Commission on Women, Children, Seniors, Equity & Opportunity (CWCSEO). In this role, she leads the statewide family civics initiative of Parent Leadership Training Institute (PLTI) and Children’s Leadership Training Institute (CLTI) to empower parents, caregivers, children, and community with the skills and knowledge to effectively engage in civic life and influence public policy to create equitable outcomes for children and families across Connecticut.

Yukiyo’s commitment to leadership development extends nationally. She has previously supported NAFCC’s Leaders Shaping Leaders initiative designed to strengthen leadership, advocacy, public policy, and financial literacy within the family child care sector. At the 2024 NAFCC Conference in St. Louis, she facilitated the Asian American and Pacific Islander Caucus, providing a platform for AAPI family child care providers to connect, share experiences, and advocate for their communities.

Yukiyo brings a wealth of experience in community engagement, policy advocacy, and leadership training. Her work is driven by a deep commitment to equity and a belief in the transformative power of leadership by people with lived experiences. She is dedicated to creating inclusive spaces where diverse voices are heard and valued, and where collective action leads to meaningful change.
