A National Pilot Supporting Network-Led Accreditation Pathways

The NAFCC Accreditation Accelerator Project is a national pilot initiative designed to support high-capacity family child care networks in helping educators complete accreditation through accelerated, network-led pathways.

About the Accreditation Accelerator

Family child care educators often face barriers to accreditation, including professional isolation, limited time, and lack of access to consistent coaching and business support. Research from the Erikson Institute demonstrates that staffed networks play a critical role in reducing these barriers and supporting quality improvement.

The NAFCC Accreditation Accelerator Project brings together a small cohort of family child care networks to participate in an accelerated accreditation pathway. Eligible educators supported by selected networks may complete accreditation with a reduced or waived self-study period.

This pilot is designed to:

Eligible networks must demonstrate that they:

  • Provide direct support to educators pursuing NAFCC Accreditation
  • Employ dedicated staff responsible for coaching, training, or technical assistance
  • Can commit to project activities, data collection, and participation requirements
  • Are willing to engage in technical assistance and communities of practice with NAFCC
