NAFCC robust curriculum SEL support materials
The National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC) has developed a toolkit aimed at equipping family childcare educators with the tools and resources needed to support social and emotional learning (SEL) development and emergency preparedness. This toolkit empowers educators to establish a safe, nurturing environment where children and families feel protected and emotionally supported. Creating a safe social-emotional learning (SEL) environment is foundational for fostering resilience, emotional intelligence, and effective learning in young children, especially within family childcare home-based settings. In moments of stress, such as natural disasters or other emergencies, a safe social and emotional learning environment becomes even more critical. Please send us pictures of your implementation of these age-appropriate best practices at professionaldevelopment@nafcc.org.
