At the heart of every child’s growth and development lies a nurturing environment, and the cornerstone of that environment often rests within the caring confines of family child care. Recognizing the important role of family child care educators, the National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC) is proud to highlight its longstanding partnership with the Florida Family Child Care Home Association (FFCCHA). This collaboration has significantly supported the advancement of quality and accessibility of family child care across the Sunshine State.
The FFCCHA is dedicated to representing a unified voice for all children, championing quality professional family child care through various avenues such as education, legislation, advocacy, mentoring, and, most importantly, love. Their mission resonates deeply with NAFCC’s commitment to excellence in family child care practices. By aligning our efforts, we amplify our impact, ensuring that every child in Florida receives the highest standard of care and education.
Tammy Tener, the Executive Director of the FFCCHA, says, “Partnering with NAFCC aligns seamlessly with our mission to elevate the standard of Family Child Care across Florida. Together, we are committed to empowering Family Educators and ensuring every child receives the highest quality care and education possible.”
Central to our collaboration is the empowerment of family child care educators. Through joint initiatives, training programs, and resources, we aim to equip dedicated family child care professionals with the tools and knowledge necessary to excel in their roles. By fostering a supportive network and providing ongoing mentorship opportunities, we are cultivating a community of passionate caregivers dedicated to nurturing the next generation.
Advocacy lies at the core of our partnership. Together, we advocate for policies and legislation that prioritize the needs of family child care educators and the children they serve. By leveraging our collective voice, we seek to effect positive change at local, state, and national levels, ensuring that family child care remains a viable and respected option for families across Florida.
As we embark on this journey together, NAFCC and FFCCHA are united in our vision of a future where every child has access to exceptional family child care. Through collaboration, advocacy, and a shared commitment to excellence, we will continue to elevate the standard of care for children across Florida and beyond.
As the Director of Strategic Partnerships and Market Solutions, I am energized by the mission-aligned collaboration and impact between NAFCC and FFCHA. Together, we are elevating Family Child Care programs by promoting accreditation, fostering professional development, and ensuring robust support across communities. This partnership is instrumental in ensuring that families and children have access to exceptional, high-quality home-based child care services in their neighborhoods.” Zakenya P. Neely
